Film producers are looking for a whopping 1,000 Irish extras to bring to life a World War II epic based on the real-life story of Hollywood icon Jimmy Stewart.

Filming is set to take place in Dublin next month, and no previous acting experience is required.

The movie traces Stewart’s extraordinary wartime career—not just as a leading man, but a decorated B-24 bomber pilotwho flew over Germany and earned multiple medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross and the French Croix de Guerre. With his rise from Hollywood heartthrob to Brigadier General, his story is unforgettable.

Casting directors are welcoming volunteers from all ages, looks and backgrounds, plus they're specifically seeking athletic men aged 18‑35 with football, soccer or GAA experience for featured roles. It’s paid work, and the team promises an authentic wartime recreation.

If you’re interested, you can apply by emailing: extrasforjimmyork@gmail.com. It’s a rare opportunity to take part in a major historical production—and maybe walk onto set as part of a wartime tribute to a true American legend.
