Directed by Jonatan Etzler and adapted from Rasmus Lindgren’s debut novel De Oönskade, Bad Apples follows Maria (played by Ronan), a primary school teacher whose class is thrown into chaos by one disruptive student. When the pupil is mistakenly locked in her home, unexpected changes unfold—blending dark humour with psychological tension.
This marks another significant achievement in Ronan’s storied career, reaffirming her status as one of Ireland’s most versatile and celebrated actors. Bad Apples will compete for top festival honours alongside other acclaimed films at the 69th edition of this prominent London festival.
