And the original cast are on board!
One of the most iconic comedy movies of the early noughties is getting a sequel - Freaky Friday 2 is officially in the works.
The first movie came out in 2003 and starred Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan as a mother and daughter who wake up one Friday in the wrong bodies. It was definitely the golden era of Lindsay Lohan comedies and the pair put in Oscar-worthy performances in our opinion!
Although it hasn't been officially confirmed, it is known that Lindsay and Jamie Lee are both open to reprising their roles. In recent interviews the pair definitely seemed keen when the topic was brought up!
In an interview with New York Times Jamie Lee Curtis said: "Something really touched a chord. When I came back, I called my friends at Disney and said, ‘It feels like there’s a movie to be made.’ "
"Jamie and I are both open to that, so we’re leaving it in the hands that be. We would only make something that people would absolutely adore.” Lindsay said when she was asked about a potential sequel.
If it means we get another banger like this one, we're on board 👇
