Some amount of money in selling music!

Katy Perry has sold the rights to her catalogue of music to Litmus Music for $225 million.

The agreement covers the original master tracks on five of Katy's albums during the height of her fame.  It includes huge hits like 'Hot & Cold', 'I Kissed A Girl' and 'Teenage Dream'.

Litmus Music was founded last summer by ex-Capitol Records president Dan McCarroll and this isn't the first time they've made a big deal like this. Last December they bought the rights to all of Keith Urban's master recordings for an undisclosed amount.

Other artists who've sold their back catalogues are Tina Turner back in 2021 and Bob Dylan to in 2022.

Knowing now how much money they can make, it's likely a lot of other singers will make the move to sell the rights to their music!
