A man has died following a crash on the M1 at Balbriggan.
It happened near Junction 6 heading northbound at around 5.30am this morning.
Two cars collided killing the driver of one vehicle and injuring the other.
The man, whose age is unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed for a post-mortem exam.
The driver of the second car was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Forensic Collision Investigators have been called in and the road remains closed at Junction 6 with diversions in place.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or who travelled along the M1 between 5am and 5.30am is being asked to contact Gardaí.
