This is the way to do it ❤
18-year-old Noah Schnapp, who is best known for playing Will in Stranger Things has casually come out as a gay on TikTok.
We say casually because the video is very downplayed and light-hearted - using a trending sound to explain the story of him coming out to his friends and family.
@noahschnappI guess I’m more similar to will than I thought♬ original sound - princessazula0
He further jokes in the caption "I guess I'm more similar to Will than I thought", alluding to the fact that his Stranger Things character is also gay. This has been implied but not explicitly addressed in the show so he seems to be teasing fans about what's to come in Season 5!
Fans in the comment section are praising him for his "iconic" way of coming out.
In years gone by coming out as gay would have been a much more significant thing for someone in the spotlight to have to do. Especially for a child actor like Noah who's had to grow up in the public eye.
So it's heartwarming to see that the next generation of LGBTQ+ celebrities can choose to come out however they like - whether that's through an official press release or 7 second video on TikTok!
It's reminiscent of when Lil Nas X made this joke back in 2019 at the height of his Old Town Road success, but it served as the official confirmation of him 'coming out'.
