Casting for Gogglebox Ireland is underway, according to The Herald. A spokesperson for TV3 has confirmed the Irish version of the hit Channel 4 show will feature in its Autumn/Winter schedule.
The show was announced by TV3 two years ago but the station is only beginning casting for the reality series now.
The spokesperson said: "Gogglebox has long been in our programming plans."
It was previously reported TV3 producers are looking for "genuine characters who don't even realise they're characters."
TV3 is hoping the show will match the recent success of RTE's First Dates Ireland. A TV insider said the quality of the Irish Gogglebox, which will be produced by Studio Lambert and Kite Entertainment, will be top notch.
A new version of the UK show called Gogglesprogs, which features children watching TV show, has just begun airing on Channel 4.
