Gardai are making a fresh appeal for help investigating the death of a woman who was knocked down in South Dublin.

75-year-old Tressa McKernan died after being hit by a motorbike on Ballinteer Avenue earlier this month.

She had just stepped off a bus and was crossing the road when it happened on April 8th.

The woman was taken by ambulance to St James's Hospital, and transferred to Beaumont.

She died five days later.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was treated for minor injuries.

Gardaí are again appealing to speak with anyone who saw what happened.

In particular, they are "anxious to speak to the driver of a silver BMW who stopped at the scene".

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dundrum Garda Station 01-6665600 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
