A witness has told a murder trial he is telling the truth, in his evidence, about the night a homeless man with cerebral palsy was stabbed to death in Dublin.
20 year old Philip Dunbar of Glenshane Drive in Tallaght denies murdering Adam Muldoon in a park in Jobstown by stabbing him 183 times.
This witness gave direct evidence to the court yesterday about these events in June 2018 when 23 year old homeless man Adam Muldoon was stabbed to death.
Witness Denied Being Present At The Stabbing
The witness, who can’t be named for legal reasons, told the jury the accused ,Philip Dunbar called to his house saying he had stabbed Adam who went by the nickname Floater.
He said the accused said
"I’m after putting him out of his misery ‘ ‘I’m after slaughtering him."
Today under cross examination, the barrister for the accused put it to the witness that this wasn’t true.
But the witness said it was saying he, "didn’t want anyone to think he was a grass but ‘this is not a normal murder"
'This is not like someone getting shot in a gangland feud. This is scummy"
He added "I’m telling the truth and nothing but the truth."
"I don’t need to lie."
He also denied being present at the stabbing - saying he was nowhere near it.
