The Special Olympics Ireland annual charity Collection Day takes place this Friday, May 5th.
Over 1,300 volunteers will be out on the streets of Dublin for the charity’s biggest annual fundraiser, with a goal of raising €650,000 nationwide.
There will be 160 collection points across the capital where supporters can make a donation.
South Dublin Locations include: Ballsbridge, Blackrock, Booterstown, Churchtown, Cherrywood, Clondalkin, Coolmine, Cornelscourt, Crumlin, Dalkey, Deansgrange, Donnybrook, Drimnagh, Dun Laoghaire, Dundrum, Glasthule, Glenageary, Grand Canal, Kilmainham, Kimmage, Leopardstown, Lucan, Palmerstown, Ranelagh, Rathfarnham, Rathmines, Sandyford, Shankill, Stillorgan, Tallaght, Terenure and Walkinstown.
North Dublin locations include: Artane, Ashtown, Balbriggan, Ballymun, Blanchardstown, Cabra, Castleknock, Clontarf, Coolock, Donabate, Donaghmede, Drumcondra, East Wall, Fairview, Finglas, Glasnevin, Howth, Killester, Malahide, Portmarnock, Raheny, Rush, Lusk, Santry, Skerries, Sutton and Swords.
Special Olympics Ireland is a sports organisation for people with an intellectual disability that gives athletes the chance to train in a chosen sport and improve their quality of life. The organisation Athletes’ families build an invaluable network of friendship and support while athletes are given a platform to demonstrate courage, experience joy and share long lasting friendships.
Supporters can play their part by giving what they can into one of thousands of buckets, use a debit card to make a contactless donation in select locations or text ‘athlete’ to 50300 to make a €4 donation to Special Olympics Ireland.
