No? Well here’s something to get you out and about AND it’s all for a great cause.
The Great Pink Run - with Avonmore Slimline Milk is back in the Phoenix park, on Saturday, August 29th and it’s all in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland.
Now in it’s 5th year, the event is open to Women, Men, Kids…everyone!
There’s a 5km Family Fun Run that…you’ve guessed it, the whole family can join in, a leisurely Jog or ‘Walk the Dog’ and for those that like a bigger challenge, Sonia O’Sullivan herself will be setting the pace, in The Great Pink Run 10k.

Every year thousands of people take part in The Great Pink Run – some of them don elaborate pink costumes, paint their faces and take part with their friends and family. Others are just happy to run and show their support, but what is it about The Great Pink Run that attracts so many people?
Maybe it’s because most people know someone, a friend, a relative, a colleague who’s been treated for Breast Cancer.
It affects 1 in 10 Irish women and there are currently 2400 new cases diagnosed annually. While survival rates are improving through screening and awareness campaigns, there is still a lot more to be achieved.
Breast Cancer doesn’t just happen to women over a certain age, it can affect women young and old.
Awareness helps to save lives…Breast Cancer Ireland wants to promote education and awareness amongst women of all ages.
Research
Breast Cancer Irelands wants to transform Breast Cancer from being an often fatal disease (650 deaths annually) to a treatable illness that can be maintained long-term through treatment.
Over the past ten years, phenomenal advances in targeted therapy have had a significant impact on breast cancer survival.
One of the key initiatives of BCI is to support Irish centres of excellence so that they can deliver world class research and improve patient care.

10km (Start 10.00am) & 5km (Start 10.40am)
Location: Furze Road, Phoenix Park
Your race pack with your Race Number, Timing Chip and Tee shirt ( if purchased online) can be collected at the Great Pink Run Expo Event in RDS Serpentine Hall.
Expo Opening Hours:
Thursday 27th August – 5pm to 9pm
Friday 28th August – 12.30pm to 8pm
Those who enter before 31st July will receive a personalised (First Name) race number.
