Saunders had hesitations about making the movie, admitting that she felt the cast would be "too old" but says she was forced into writing the script because Joanna Lumley kept talking about it in interviews.
Ab Fab ran for 5 seasons between 1992 and 2003 - and also returned for a series of specials around the London Olympics.
The film, like the TV series', will feature an array of cameos from famous faces like Kate Moss, Lulu, Emma Bunton and Harry Styles.
It's due out in cinemas in 2016.
