98FM Wins Music Station Of The Year At The IMRO Radio Awards

98FM took home the coveted Music Station of the Year award at the IMRO Radio Awards 2018.

The station picked up seven gold awards in total at the annual event, which took place at the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny last night.

The Big Ride Home with Dara Quilty won the General Music Programme award, while Brendan O'Loughlin is the News Broadcaster of the Year.

98FM News took gold for News Bulletin as did Darren Cleary who won the Sports Broadcaster Local/Regional Award.

98FM's Totally Irish with John Barker was also on the winner's list. The show won gold in the New Irish Music/Musical talent category.

The Best of Dublin Awards came first in the On-Air Competitions category.

The annual awards are the equivalent of the Oscars for Irish Radio broadcasting. 

A judging panel of 90 industry experts listened to over 275 hours of entries to determine the hotly contested awards.
