A man arrested in connection a murder in Dublin has been released from questioning.

The victim died in hospital on Monday, after being attacked last weekend.

Vincent Parsons was attacked near a pub in Tallaght last Saturday night, where he'd been out.

The dad-of-two was found nearby in the Killinarden estate with serious head injuries and rushed to hospital.

He died 48 hours later.

Gardai believe the 34-year-old was subjected to an extremely violent attack by at least two people he didn't know.

A 24-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder investigation has been released without charge.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the attack or anyone who has information that could help the case to contact them.
