The upcoming series of Love Island is shaping up to be a great one. The show returns on Monday June 3rd and it seems plenty of drama is on the way.

The first 12 contestants to appear on the show were announced earlier this week. However, it's reported that they all won't enter the villa at the same time.

Speaking to The Sun, ITV Studios Entertainment managing director Angela Jain revealed that two of the seven men will be held back.

She said: “We’ve really tried again to have a real range of personalities, people, hopefully there’s somebody in there for everyone and a bit of a slice of British life – so hopefully lots of different types of people are represented.

“As you know the aim of the game is to find love in that villa.

“In terms of the format we’re going to do some tweaks – there’s a tiny bit of a change to the opening.

“The islanders do not know. There’s ten coming into the villa but in a twist there are two more boys that will appear later in the opening show.”

It's also reported that ITV has a bunch of "bombshell arrivals" ready to enter the villa.

"The current line up isn’t going to stay the same for long – and the newbies are super-hot,' a show source told The Sun.

“They are being called ‘bombshell arrivals’ and viewers will see why when they see them.

“They are currently holed up in a secret location and will make their appearances as the series goes on.

“It’s going to make amazing TV and it’ll be a real twist for those who start the show.”

Caroline Flack will return to host Love Island, which kicks off on Virgin Media 2 on Monday June 3rd at 9pm.
