Greg O'Shea temporarily left the Love Island villa this week following the death of his grandmother.

The rugby player's Granny Monica Ho "passed away peacefully on 19th July 2019, in the care of Talbot Lodge Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family."

According the The Mirror, the Limerick native flew home on Monday to attend the funeral and be with his family

A representative for Love Island told the Mirror: "Owing to a bereavement, at the wishes of his family, Greg was away from the villa for a day to attend a funeral.

"Everyone at Love Island extends their sympathies to Greg and his family and we have since welcomed him back to the villa."

Greg's family have praised show bosses for their help in getting Greg home.

Last week, Anton left the villa for one night after falling ill.

On tonight's episode of Love Island, the villa erupts after Jordan's head is turned by Anna.
