The residents of Coronation Street will be told the sad news of Deirdre Barlow's death during this Wednesday's episode.
Anne Kirkbride, the actress who played the iconic soap character for 42 years, died aged 60 in January after a cancer diagnosis.
She took time out from the cobbles for treatment, and had hoped to return to filming before she passed away.
Bosses at the soap wrote Deirdre out on a temporary basis, but Deirdre's family are about to find out that she's died while visiting her friend, Bev Unwin.
A funeral service for her character will be shown during next Monday night's episode.
