The survey was carried out by UCD Students Union.
55 per cent of UCD students are paying in-excess of €750 per month in rent.
Of those surveyed, 43 per cent are unhappy with their current living arrangements.
Almost half of respondents say the housing crisis has had a negative impact on their student experience.
53 per cent have difficulties meeting their monthly housing-related costs.
The Minister for Housing seeks a 2% cap on annual rent increases. (Or matched to inflation if lower).

The statistics paint the picture of the housing crisis in Dublin and beyond.
UCDSU President Ruairí Power says rentals are "having a hugely detrimental impact on UCD students."
"Students are faced with extortionate rents and insecure tenancy conditions," Power said.
In finding a solution - Power called for an end to luxury accommodation builds on college campuses.
