Everton have moved a step closer to Champions League football, after beating Sunderland 1-0 at the Stadium of light.

A Wes Brown own goal, was enough to move the Toffee's two points above Arsenal into 4th spot.

But for Sunderland, things are now looking very bleak. They are 7 points off safety with just 6 games to play. And plenty of the teams around them picked up valuable points today...

It finished at Craven Cottage, Fulham 1. Norwich 0.

Hugo Rodellaga smashing home the only goal of the game after 40 minutes. Fulham are now just two points behind the Canaries in that final relegation spot.

Cardiff could have started mission impossible, as they picked up a massive 1-0 win away to Southampton. Juan Cala heading home the winner after 65 minutes.

Cardiff are now just three points off safety.

West Brom are also just three points clear of the bottom three after throwing away a 3-0 lead at home to Tottenham. The Brummies led through Matej Vydra, Chris Brunt and Stephane Sessegnon.

A Jonas Olsen own goal gave Spurs a lifeline before half time.  Harry Kane brought Spurs back into it, and an injury time strike from Cristian Eriksen keep West Brom in the relegation mix.

 

Crystal Palce beat Aston Villa 1-0 through a second half Jason Puncheon strike, and are now seven points clear of the relegation spots.

And Newcastle's poor form continued, as they lost 1-0 away to Stoke City. Erik Pieters scoring just before half time.
