Padraig Harrington Named A Ryder Cup Vice-Captain

Paul McGinley has named Padraig Harrington as one of his vice captain’s for the Ryder Cup later this month.

The European Captain has also chosen Miguel Angel Jimenez and Jose Maria Olazabal to complete his vice-captaincy line-up.

The trio join Sam Torrance and Des Smyth as McGinley’s assistants for the tournament, which takes place at Gleneagles in Scotland from the 26th to the 28th of September.

Harrington is a three-time major champion, and has featured in six Ryder Cups.

Olazabal was captain two years agao when Europe retained the Cup in dramatic fashion at Medinah. He’s also played at the Ryder Cup seven times.

And Jimenez has appeared in four competitions. He was also vice-captain under Olazabal in 2012.
