Manchester United are out of the Champions League at the quarter final stage.
United fought gallantly at the Allianz Arena but lost 3-1 to Bayern Munich on the night and 4-2 overall.
After an uneventful first half, Man U took the lead through an absolute screamer from Patrice Evra in the 57th minute.
But all it did was awake the Bayern beast and the Bavarians equalised two minutes later through a Mario Mandzukic header with the French left back still in raptures over his scorcher.
Bayern were now firmly in the driving seat and went in front in the 67th minute when Thomas Muller directed an Arjen Robben centre into the net.
And the holders wrapped up the tie with fourteen minutes left, Robben gliding across the area before driving home a left footed effort into the net via a slight deflection.
And Atletico Madrid are also in the semis after a 1-0 win on the night at the Vicente Calderon against Barcelona for a 2-1 aggregate success.
Koke was their matchwinner with a 5th minute strike.
So it's Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea who are in the draw for the semi finals which takes place on Friday.
