Liverpool picked up a massive 3-2 win at home to Manchester City to go seven points ahead of the Blues.

Raheem Sterling turning inside Kompany and then outside Joe Hart before rolling the ball into the net after five minutes to give them the perfect start.

To make matters worse for City, Yaya Toure then limped off with a knee injury.

Martin Skrtel then doubled the home side's lead with a header after 25 minutes. Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling could have added more before the break, but it seemed that Liverpool were cruising at the break.

The visitors looked a lot more lively after the break, and finally found a way through, as David Silva fired home after 57 minutes.

Just five minutes later, a David Silva effort deflected off Glen Johnson and ended up in the Liverpool goal.

Manuel Pellegrini then brought on Sergio Aguero and it looked as though there was only one team that would go on to win the game.

But with 10 minutes remaining, a snap shot from Coutinho wrapped up the three points.

Jordan Henderson was sent off for a lunge on Nasri in injury time, and will miss three of Liverpool's remaining four games.
