The ultimate nostalgia!

If you loved Roald Dahl books growing up, you'll be delighted to hear that The Twits is making its way to the big (streaming) screen!

The classic novel is being adapted into an animated film for Netflix and is scheduled to be released in 2025.

And we got our first look at it this week!

The Twits film will take on a different plot to the book to fill out a feature-length film.

According to the film's description, the Twits rise to power in their town as they operate a disgusting and dangerous amusement park. In order to save the city, two brave orphans and a family of magical animals will be forced to become as tricky as the Twits themselves.

It may be a while until we see it on our screens but it's got some stellar names attached to it already.

Phil Johnston will be directing the film, whose previous credits include Ralph Breaks The Internet and Zootopia.

The Twits was my favorite book when I was a kid,” Phil said in a statement about directing the film.

“I love this movie because it reminds us that twits like the Twits, whose default emotions are anger and vengeance, can’t be allowed to win in our world.”

The Twits is not the only Roald Dahl adaptation in the works for Netflix.   The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Ralph Fiennes is coming the Netflix later this month and an animated retelling of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is on its way as well.
