Dublin's famous Moore Street market is being re-launched today, in a bid to bring new street traders into the area.

The number of stalls has declined, and Dublin City Council has brought the Temple Bar Company on board to take charge of rejuvenating the area.

It runs a market on the southside of the city, and will now run a four-day market from Thursday to Sunday on Moore Street.

Martin Harte from the Temple Bar Company says they want to bring in new traders, and work with the existing traders, to boost the area:

"What we're charged to do, I suppose, is to attract traders in and we're going to provide them with pop-up marquees."

"We're looking for new traders to help bring new footfall back into the city."

Lavinia Donovan is a fourth-generation trader who says she's delighted with the new plans.

"The excitement for it now, for the new market to be up and running and all the talk that's going on about it is very very exciting."

"Being the youngest trader in Moore Street it's like - where do I stand? What's going to happen?"

"The developments for the street, that we've been told about is really, really good."

The market is relaunching this evening.
