A woman has pleaded guilty to the attempted abduction of a child on the Southside.
She was arrested after trying to take a toddler from a child care facility in Dun Laoghaire in September.
The court heard the woman, who can’t be named for legal reasons, has a history of substance abuse and schizophrenia.
On the 22nd of September, she tried to take a child from a crèche in Dun Laoghaire but was stopped by a member of staff and gardai were alerted.
The court heard the woman's three children are in care and the toddler she tried to take was the same age as one of her children.
She has been in custody since she was arrested but today she was granted bail on strict conditions including that she stay away from creches, schools and anywhere children are gathered.
She will be sentenced next Tuesday.
