The failure to build two entrances to the new DIT campus in Grangegorman could result in major traffic gridlock in September.

According to the Irish Times, residents are complaining that the move is in breach of planning permission.

One thousand students are due to descent on the new campus at the start of the new college term.

However residents are complaining that it will result in traffic delays in the area as two entrances at the east and west of the site will not be built and open in time.

As a result students will have to enter through the North Circular Road which already experiences long tailbacks during rush hour.

Residents have accused the Grangegorman Development Agency of breaching its planning permission which it denys and Dublin City Council is investigating the complaint.
