Conditions are improving following heavy rain and flooding in the city

Met Éireann has issued a status orange alert for Dublin for the next 24 hours.

Eoghan Sherlock has this update:

David Rogers from Met Eireann says it should pick-up later tomorrow.

Meanwhile AA Roadwatch say there is excess surface water on the M1 both ways between J3 Swords and J4 Lissenhall with southbound traffic particularly heavy as a result. Traffic is reduced to one lane southbound due to surface water; northbound, one lane is closed.

DART services have also resumed between Dun Laoghaire & Bray.
