Scottish triathlete David McNamee has taken victory at the Ironman 70.3 event in Dublin today.
The 29-year-old completed the gruelling course in a time of three hours, 48 minutes and 14 seconds.

Meanwhile Sarah Lewis became the new women’s champion – coming in at a time of four hours, 23 minutes and 11 seconds.
2,000 athletes from 38 countries took part in the competition this morning.
One of the most challenging events in the world, the course included a 1.2 mile swim in Dub Laoghaire this morning, followed by a 56-mile cycle and a 13.1 mile run.

The event caused significant traffic disruption in the city this morning. Gardaí have created an interactive map where people can track race progress, road closures and diversions.
Passengers using public transport are advised to check journey times before travelling – while GAA fans heading to the All-Ireland football semi-final between Kerry and Mayo at Croke Park may also face delays.
