Dublin Bus is planning to offer its Airlink service to people on the Southside.

The company's also making its existing Northside route more frequent.

Last year, around 1.5 million people used the Airlink to get from the Airport to the city centre. Today, Dublin Bus said they were increasing the frequency of the service, meaning it now goes every 10 minutes from 4.45 in the morning to just after midnight.

That means there will be 200 trips every day from the Northside to Heuston Station. The success of the service means the company are looking to bring it further into Dublin.

Chief Executive Ray Coyne said "we've launched a new early service at the weekend with an increase of close to 50% in the number of journeys. Service comes in from the Port Tunnel so you'll be into the city centre in about 20-25 minutes. Close to 200 trips a day".

Dublin Bus is also looking to expand its sightseeing and coastal tours this year and is also planning to introduce a 1916 Bus tour, to link in with Easter Rising commemorations.
