Fairy lights around the house could be slowing down your WiFi.

That's according to British regulator OFCOM which says fairy lights, microwaves, baby monitors and lamps could also be interfering with the speed of your internet.

They've launched an app that checks wireless signals in your home to see if WiFi is flowing uninterrupted from your router.

It’s not likely that just having fairy lights in your house would cause major problems with your wireless signal, but if they are placed between the device and the router, then they could cause interference and slow the speed down.

OFCOM claims that over 6 million homes in Britain could improve their connection speed.
