A senior member of the Kinahan gang is on his way back to Ireland after being extradited from Dubai.
Sean McGovern has been described as one of Ireland's most wanted fugitives by Interpol.
In an historic move, the 39 year-old has become the first person to be extradited from the United Arab Emirates to Ireland.
The Dubliner was named in the Special Criminal Court as one of the leaders of the Kinahan organised crime group and was one of seven members of the gang named and sanctioned by US authorities in 2022.
He's been in custody in Dubai since late last year and was last night put on an Irish Air Corps plane bound for Ireland, escorted by gardaí.
The military jet is due to land at Casement Aerodrome this evening.
McGovern is wanted in connection with the murder of Noel Kirwan in Clondalkin in December 2016.
