Gardai investigating a violent burglary in Templeogue are searching for a man with fresh scratches to his face and a cut on his finger.
A young woman was assaulted during the break-in yesterday morning.
At around 11.20 yesterday morning, a man broke into a house in the Osprey area of Templeogue.
A young woman, who was in the house at the time, was beaten up, but managed to fight back and inflict some injuries on the intruder which investigating Gardai hope will help track him down. They include some scratches to his face and a cut to his right index finger.
The victim gave Gardai a very detailed description of her attacker. She said he spoke with an Irish accent, was in his 40s, of average height with short hair. He has a thin clean-shaven face which was covered in small pitted scars.
He was dressed in black with a dark baseball cap and dark sunglasses. Anyone with information is asked to contact Gardai.
