Rolling Stones Granted Croke Park Licence

Dublin City Council is being accused of putting the entertainment of some people ahead of the quality of life of those living near Croke Park.

It's been confirmed that the Rolling Stones have been granted a licence to play in May, meaning a total of four shows will be staged at the stadium this summer.

The GAA has an agreement with locals that it won't host any more than three concerts in a year - but can apply for permission to hold more.

Patrick Gates is with the Clonliffe and Croke Park Area Residents Association, said he thinks the decision is "wrong".

"It seems to me that the City Council is putting the entertainment of some people above the quality of life of the many living around Croke Park", he explained.

The association has admitted that there is "probably not much more" it can do to stop this concert from going ahead, but will meet to discuss the decision and its effects on locals.

May 17th in Dublin will be the first date of the No Filter 2018 tour which will also include stops in the UK, France, Germany, Czech Republic & Poland.

Tickets for the Croke Park date go on sale this Friday March 23rd.
