The Restaurants Association of Ireland says it's 'game over' for many businesses if they can't open at Christmas.

It's after the Tanaiste raised doubts that pubs and restaurants would be able to open properly in December.

Leo Varadkar told business groups in a conference call last night that Ireland would likely be in Level 3 of the Governments Living with COVID-19 plan after the lockdown.

That would mean indoor dining would be banned, with a maximum of 15 people allowed have a meal outdoors.

The Restaurants Association of Ireland says 30 percent of their members annual income is made during the month of December, and it's vital that a solution is found.

It's expected Leo Varadkar will meet with the hospitality sector again in mid-to-late November.
