Over 100 Breaches Of Consumer Law

One hundred and 15 enforcement actions were taken against businesses in breach of consumer law last year.

According to the National Consumer Agency's annual report for 2013, two prosecutions were secured against traders in connection with the sale of clocked cars.

The report shows 324 unannounced ‘compliance blitz’ visits were made to traders across a range of retail sectors nationwide, and the agency issued 72 on the spot fines to traders in breach of pricing legislation.
