Revised plans for Bus Connects could see major changes for commuters heading in and out of the city from the south side.

16 dedicated bus corridors are planned as part of the €2 billion project, that aims to make public transport faster and more efficient.

In an effort to save trees and gardens along the Rathfarnham corridor, it has been proposed that the Rathgar Road would become one-way.

According to the Herald locals were shown revised proposals yesterday. They will also mean that cars will be stopped from crossing the Grand Canal from Rathmines while motorists coming from town through Rathmines and Rathgar will be diverted through Ranelagh instead.
