The Green Party leader says it’s likely the country will reopen from Level 5 Covid-19 restrictions in stages and not all in one go.

Senior Ministers are meeting this morning to discuss how the Government will exit lockdown next week.

The Government's preference is to move directly to level three, while it's expected NPHET will take a cautious approach.

Speaking on his way into Cabinet this morning, Minister Eamon Ryan says it needs to be done carefully.

Retail

No decision is expected today but Ministers will set out their views on what should be allowed to open.

While most retail will be allowed to open next week the debate still to be settled is around pubs and restaurants and to what extent they'll be able to open.

The Taoiseach made positive noises about moving to level three yesterday, but warned there are settings including those involving alcohol that can be super spreaders.
