A man has been arrested after a kidnapping and robbery in north Co. Dublin this morning.
Three woman, one of whom was a postmistress were kidnapped from a house in Malahide early this morning.
They were taken by three armed and masked men to the Bayside post office in Sutton.
A short time later the raiders fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash in a dark coloured car.
Gardai were alerted and the emergency response unit intercepted a car on the Malahide road.
A number of shots were fired by officers a man in his early 20s arrested.
A sum of cash was recovered but a man hunt is underway for two suspects in their late 40s who escaped.
The three woman were not physically injured but are said to be traumatised.
Gardaí are currently searching for two other men who are described as follows:
Late 40s/early 50s, grey white hair, chubby build, 5 10 in height wearing dark leggings and similar top
Late 40s/early 50s, chubby build, dark grey hair, wearing blue runners with a green stripe.
Both men spoke with Dublin accents.
