Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with the gag-related killing of a suspected gunman in Blanchardstown.

Tristian Sherry was stabbed multiple times in a bust restaurant on Main Street on Christmas Eve.

The 26 year-old entered the steakhouse with a machine gun just after 8pm and opened fire, injuring a man in his 40s.

He was then confronted, disarmed and stabbed multiple times.

Mr. Sherry was pronounced dead in hospital a short time later.

Gardaí say they have now arrested a man in connection with the incident.

He is being questioned at a Garda station in West Dublin where he can be held for up to 24 hours.
