The National Transport Authority has set public transport fares for the next year, boasting that for three quarters of people, there will be no fare increase -with some of them even paying less.
Dublin Bus cash and leap fares stay the same although schoolchildren using leap cards will see the price go up by 2 cent. There is also a small increase for people using pre-paid, monthly and yearly cards.

Anne Graham, CEO of the National Transport Authority said “We believe that the prices people pay should accurately reflect the journeys they’re making."
“We’re also endeavoring to cut back on the wide array of different fare types, stages and products, so that cost of travel is easier to understand for the passenger", she added.
The National Transport Authority says Leap will always be at least 20% cheaper than cash for a single journey.
