The Lord Mayor of Dublin says the city was not prepared for the heavy downpours overnight which led to flooding across much of the northside this morning.
Christy Burke said thousands of sandbags were required to prevent the excess water, however they were not made available.
This comes as Dublin City Council’s flood risk assessment group meet this afternoon to discuss the fallout.
85mm of rain fell in some parts of the city overnight, with Ballymun getting the worst of it.
