The funeral of Kenneth O'Brien has heard his death offended the community.
Hundreds gathered at St. Matthew's Church in Ballyfermot to pay tribute to the 33 year old.
Chief mourners at his funeral mass were his partner Eimear and young son Charlie, as well as his parents Susan and Gerry and his brothers and sisters.
Chief Celebrant Father Joe McDonald read out a letter on behalf of the family which thanked the community for their unwavering support since Kenneth's disappearance.
He went missing from his home in Clondalkin on January 15th, and Gardai believe he was shot dead just hours later.
His dismembered body was found dumped in the Grand Canal at Ardclough and Sallins in County Kildare.
Fr Joe McDonald has told mourners at St Michael's Church in Ballyfermot that Kenneth should be remembered by his life - rather than the manner of his death.
He said the cruel manner of his death offends God.
Kenneth was laid to rest at Newlands Cross Cemetary.
