Kellie Harrington's been recognised for her achievements in sport after being given the Freedom of the City of Dublin last night.

The boxer who won gold at the Tokyo Olympics was also honoured for her work in the community.

Ailbhe Smyth also received the honour for her work in human rights, along with Professor Mary Aiken for her studies in cyber-psychology.

North Inner City Councillor Nial Ring who was at the event at the Mansion House says Kellie's inspired many children:

"What she did was unprecedented in terms of being a young girl from the inner-city, who had various struggles. She's been such an inspiration to future generations and of course all the children around the area and throughout the country, who absolutely take inspiration from what Kelly has achieved".
