The Israeli embassy in Dublin has been slammed for posting a picture of Molly Malone in a niqab.
It was one of a number of pictures posted on social media.
These pictures which have since been removed from twitter and facebook featured doctored images relating to different European countries.
One was of a full length black niqab covering the Molly Malone statue, with the slogan, Israel now Dublin next.
Other pictures included Michaelangelos statue of David wearing an Arab headscraf with an explosive belt around its waste and the Mona Lisa wearing a hijab, and holding a rocket.
The pictures have drawn criticism at a time when the UN has called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
