Homeowners Asked To Rent Rooms To Students

Homeowners are being asked to consider renting a room to a student this September, in an effort to alleviate the student accommodation crisis.

There's a severe shortage of accommodation in Dublin and Maynooth, with many forced to book hostels for this September, in order to ensure they have a roof over their heads.

The USI says homeowners can rent a room in their home for under 10-thousand euro per year, tax free.

It's launching a new website today - homes.usi.ie - which allows homeowners advertise rooms to students.
