Campaigning in General election 2016 has begun.
Posters started going up on lamp posts across the city and county within minutes of the 31st Dail being dissolved this morning.
While the Taoiseach didn't confirm the date of the election in the Dail, he posted a video on his Twitter account a short time later to confirm that we'll take to the polls on Friday 26th.
Enda Kenny again re-iterated that the choice for voters is on the economy:
"This election is about who will keep that recovery going, based on stability and progress. It is a clear choice between continuing on the path of recovery with Fine Gael or putting your hard won progress at risk by handing it over to those who wrecked our country in the past or those who would wreck it in the future".
Polling booths will open at 7am on Friday 26th and close at 10pm that night.
Counting begins at 9am on Saturday 27th.
All prospective election candidates have until noon on February 11th to get their nomination papers into the local registrar.
Over 3.2 million people are eligible to vote in the General Election, anyone who isn't on the register has until Tuesday February 9th to get on the supplementary one.
