Gardai are appealing to all road users, including cyclists and pedestrians, to stop breaking red lights.
So far this year, almost 1,800 people have been brought to court for not stopping at traffic lights.
Garda traffic units have been instructed to clampdown on this particular offence - as part of the new SAFER ROADS FOR DUBLIN campaign.
Chief Superintendent Aidan Reid says the problem seems to be getting worse:
