Gang On Run After Stealing €200,000 In Artane Kidnapping

It’s emerged the family at the centre of a tiger kidnapping in Artane were held all night by three armed and masked raiders.

A security worker, was forced to hand over 200 thousand euro to the gang this morning, while his partner and daughter were tied up and handcuffed.

At around 5am this morning a family of two women were abducted from their home on Gracefield Road in Artane while the substantial amount of money was taken from a cash in transit van. 

The women were driven around in a VW Caddy for a number of hours before being found by Gardai. 

They had been tied and bound in the back of the back of the van when they were discovered at Chestnut Grove estate in Dundoyne Co. Meath. 

At the same time the security worker was forced to go to work and hand over a large amount of cash at Corballis Road Business Park, Dublin Airport.

The victims of the abduction were not physically injured but were traumatised by the events.

Gardai are continuing to search for the gang who remain at large. 

Officers are appealing for the witnesses at a number of locations between 8pm on the Wednesday the 2nd of December 2015 and 8am 3rd  December. 

They are looking to hear from anyone who say any suspicious activity between the Artane Roundabout and Gracefield Road.

They aslo want witnesses to any suspicious activity in respect of a 09D Volkswagon Caddy Silver/White at Gracefield Road, Artane, Chesnut Grove, Dunboyne or between those locations. 

Gardaí are also appealing for information on a small white box type van which was parked near Corballis Road Business Park, Dublin Airport between 7am and 8.30am today.
