A former church in Dublin city centre is to be turned into a food and dining hall.

Dublin city council has given Fáilte Ireland the green light to redevelop St Andrew's church on Suffolk Street.

The former tourist office, that's located just off College Green and near Grafton Street, has remained mostly empty for a decade.

The area is a hotspot for visitors, with the Molly Malone statue located right in front of the old church.

Dee Laffan is a food journalist and Editor of Scoop Food Magazine. She says it's a fantastic venue;

"There has been talk of a food market, or a food emporium, something going into it before. I think it's a great venue for it, it's so centrally located."
