A proposal to erect a giant ferris wheel in Dublin's inner city similar to the London Eye has been vetoed by Dublin City Council on the grounds of conservation concerns.
Wolfe Tone Park near Mary Street was the planned site for the large amusement ride.
75 jobs would have been created as a result of the venture.
However, the Council rejected the structure because of the proposed location.
